3D-Design

At MakerPoint we get organisations started in the world of 3D Printing, 3D Scanning and Laser Cutting / Engraving. Based on our broad field of knowledge and years of experiential expertise, through a short visit (or extensive conversation) we can always find leads for process optimization when we combine our knowledge of digital manufacturing with your specific context. We offer this advice in the shape of a Quick Scan, with as the main deliverable a report of the developments in your industry, and promising applications in your exact field - from current possibilities to long term innovation opportunities.

QUICKSCAN: 2 hour visit, trend report and innovation scenarios: € 450.00 ex VAT (+ travel expense of €0.55/km)

While the relevance of these technologies is being confirmed for more and more sectors, still many organisations stay hesitant of implementation if they don’t possess the expertise to construct (3D) CAD drawings themselves - the basic corner stone of digital manufacturing. While investigating the possibilities for new developement- / production methods you can outsource the first designs (and prototype production) with us, so together we can find out what the most appropriate follow-up would be in your specific context. This may lead to an advice about the procurement of an own machine / design software, or perhaps a (group) training for your employees. Of course you can also choose to keep outsourcing the design work to us, in which case we’ll gladly offer you a volume discount.

DESIGN SERVICE: € 75.00/h ex VAT

Besides an approach from custom context MakerPoint also offers design services based on personal expertise of our Maker Guides. See the overview below:

Marloes Homburg: Product Design
When it comes to product design and digital manufacturing we’d like to get you in touch with Marloes, industrial designer by trade and engerineer by nature. She can help you from idea to concepts and then to a functional prototype in a few swift iterations, using an agile development approach that leaves her competitors far behind. Intelligent products are the future of design, and with her background in (Arduino) programming Marloes can help you take full advantage of this opportunity.

Luca Sabbatini: Jewellery Design
Luca is a true artist when it comes to 3D sculpting. He’s a master in organic shapes, and has an impressive background in jewellery design. Together with his partners he has developed a catalogue that allows jewellers to subscribe and receive access to hundreds of ring and pendent designs - which he offers to scale and/or adapt for a small fee.

Ron van den Ouweland: Events / Awards
Through his Master in Imagineering Ron has learned how to ask the right questions to create the framework for a custom design that allows organizations to explain their distinguishing capacities, company mission or executive vision. Usually these products take shape in an a custom tool for the job, unique employee awards or exclusive give-aways for an event.

Antoine de Bock: Parametric Design
Antoine uses software called OpenSCAD to design objects based on code, which change shape through a combination of its general definitions and freely customizable input. This leads to applications like a text editor for his personally designed pancake printer, which draws the requested word before it starts on the outline and infill of the pancake - turning it into a readible (and edible) text when served.
