Formlabs Fuse Blast Polishing Module
Description
The Formlabs Fuse Blast Polishing Module is a dedicated post-processing station for SLS prints produced on the Formlabs Fuse series. After parts leave the Fuse 1, Fuse 1+ or Fuse 2 printer, they are covered in residual sintered nylon powder that requires removal before the parts are ready for use. The Fuse Blast automates this depowdering and surface-finishing step using media blasting, delivering a uniform, smooth matte surface finish with significantly less manual effort than traditional hand-blasting or tumbling workflows.
Integrating the Fuse Blast into a Fuse-based production setup completes the ecosystem for a fully automated SLS workflow: print, depowder with the Fuse Sift, and finish with the Fuse Blast. The result is consistent, professional surface quality across every batch without the variability introduced by manual finishing. This makes the Fuse Blast especially valuable for production environments, service bureaus and engineering teams that require reproducible surface quality on functional or customer-facing SLS parts.
Key features
- Automated media blasting removes residual powder and produces a uniform matte surface finish without manual intervention.
- Designed as part of the Formlabs Fuse SLS ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with Fuse 1, Fuse 1+, and Fuse 2 workflows.
- Consistent, repeatable surface quality across batches - eliminates the variability associated with hand-blasting or tumbling.
- Reduces manual labour in the post-processing stage, freeing operators for higher-value tasks in production environments.
- Suitable for all Formlabs SLS materials including Nylon 12 Powder, Nylon 11 Powder and specialty SLS materials.
- Compact, enclosed design for safe operation and minimal media contamination of the surrounding workspace.
Compatible with: Formlabs Fuse 1, Fuse 1+, Fuse 2 (SLS 3D printers)
